![]() Page, AZ - March 2024"Secret Antelope Canyon.' Wonderful tour & guide. High winds & sand in all places, including our ears!! Horseshoe at sunset was magical. Bonus: arch at the back of a gas station :) | ![]() Sedona, AZ - Jan 2024Exploring this town again, but this time with a new friend, who happens to be a fellow photographer and nature lover. Always lovely seeing the beauty of this place through everyone's eyes! | ![]() Sedona, AZ - Jan 2024Winter Wanderland! Sedona holds its beauty in all seasons, and winter was no different! I needed a little 'feel' of this season, so took the day to head up and tried to capture some of views on my drive. | ![]() Scotland - Oct/Nov 2023Nothing like being gifted this season in Scotland! The colors, the smells, the changes in colors. Every part of my soul was speechless and in awe during the entire month. Lucky to enter my birthday month here as well. From sunset in Elgo, to the beauty in Plodda Falls, to gorgeous Glencoe (& an encounter with a stag!), to all the lush trees, fog on lochs, and time with people who feel like family. The most perfect trip! |

![]() Scotland, Sep 2022Donnottar Castle, North Berwick, boat trip in Ullapool, Old Man of Storr, Armadale Castle & Gardens, Plodda Falls, Roslin Glen, Durness, Isle of Skye, Dalkeith, Edinburgh...WOW! Loved all these places, their beauty, but the best parts were the moments and memories created in between them: the laughter, the chats, the pauses to soak it all in, and the shared space with my pa. These are gifts I get to keep for this lifetime and am so grateful for! | ![]() Dewey, AZ - Mortimer Farms - Sep 2022Somedays, nothing goes as originally planned, but it turns out to be exactly what it needed to be! This was one of those days. What I will remember most was the amount of laughter as we played in a tire swing. Can't say I remember when it was the last time I played and laughed just like that in the process. It was pure gold. We brought back home zero pumpkins, but lots of dirt the flew in our ears, nose, filled our shoes & clothing...and it was LUSH! Perfect day with lovely friends! | ![]() Flagstaff, AZ - Oct 2021This hike was on my bucket list, and it did not disappoint! The drive up the mountain, to me, was quite scary, but worth it! Great place to camp as well once you have reached the top. My youngest tripped over a tree root and broke his ankle, resulting in needing to be carried for over a mile. Fortunately we received some help because my body was at the end of being able to do it myself...add the elevation of over 9k feet and this mom over here was struggling! | ![]() Flagstaff & Sedona, AZ - May 2021The power of friendships! My friend Jessica planned a trip for us, and it was everything my soul needed post Dallas. A day being adventurous among trees at the Flagstaff Extreme, climbing and zip lining for a couple of hours. I did not finish all 3 courses but look forward to getting to the end next time. Then to Sedona, a day spent by the water, soaking up the views, sunshine, and the creek! |
![]() Dallas, TX - April 2021There's a lot that went down on this trip, not all positive unfortunately. But would I take anything back? Absolutely not! There are memories and photographs from this trip that keep on bringing smiles to my face, and mostly are due to meeting and connecting with other people who are a special part of my life, my story, my journey! I even got a special painting to bring home from one of the most talented women I know! | ![]() Telluride, CO - Oct 2020If anyone were to ask my kids which trip was their most memorable, this would likely be their answer! An overnight in Flagstaff broke the long drive. It was not long after we crossed the 4 Corners that it began to feel like Autumn had arrived. Colorful leaves followed us the entire drive, cooler temperatures as well. Those 3 days were filled with walks to the Mountain Village, gondola rides (they are free!) and food tasting! | ![]() Scotland, UK - Aug-Sep 2019I still can't believe I spent 3 weeks in one of my favorite places with one of my favorite humans! Scotland and all the people I am so grateful to have met and work with have made me feel so welcomed! I love the culture, the land, and all that this country has given my soul: another home :) We did mostly of the NC 500 but ended in Skye before heading back to Edinburgh. The coming home stuff in the living room was a lovely sight of the fun times we had and the length time we were on the road!! | ![]() New Jersey, June 2019We were visiting family and had the best time! The highlight of the things we got to visit was the Border Walk at the Seaside Heights! |
![]() Sedona, AZ - May 2019Quick trip to Sedona, hanging among red rocks, playing on a hammock trying not to fall into the creek, finishing up with a hail storm! | ![]() Payson, AZ - May 2019This trip was CRAZY fun! My friend Donna and I went to Payson to see the Tonto Natural Bridge. Upon arriving, we found about about some closures on one of the trails. Unsure of what to expect, as I have never been on any of the other trails, we ventured into the Pine Creek Trail and had the best time climbing over rocks, among trees and water! FABULOUS!! | ![]() Prescott, AZ - March 2019Awesome day trip to Prescott with my friend Nikki! Arizona is stunning all year around, but add some snow and it feels like an entire new beauty! | ![]() West Fork, Sedona, AZ - Jan 2019For those who know me and my love for this town call me Suedona! Safe to say I spend many hours in town every month as I drive for any little visit as often as I can. But sometimes I hit the jackpot and get to go for a few days...or a week, but it takes my road trip buddy to fly here from Scotland to make it happen! This trip was so special, as I had never seen West Fork so frozen!! SIMPLY BREATHTAKING! |
![]() Seven Sacred Pools, Sedona, AZ - Oct 2018This place had been calling me ever since my first trip, and I was hoping this time around there would be no bees (the pools were covered in them). This time we lucked out! There had been rain the day before, so they were full of water, no bees, and the weather perfect! A very nice walk/hike with the kids and some outdoor fun :) | ![]() Carlsbad, CA - Nov 2018Both of my kiddos have birthdays towards the end of the year, one month apart. It always gets a bit hectic when fall arrives, and one of the things we began doing was to simplify birthdays, but also making it special- we go on a trip! They choose where (Legoland) and we celebrate them both at the same time. No more theme or birthday parties (those were awesome though). They get to pic 1 toy at the end and we get to create memories together as a family! Donuts with their classmates on their bdays | ![]() Horseshoe Bend, Page AZ - April 2018THIS PLACE!!!! And this road trip!!! I'll have to split it into a few pics, because this part of AZ is just too beautiful and it needs its own spotlights and not a collage! Country music, open roads, small towns, hours of driving, laughing & chatting with my crazy awesome road trip buddy! Some trips just make you smile when you think of it, and this is one of them! | ![]() Grand Canyon, AZ - April 2018SO grand!!! It was our first stop on the way to Page, we got to spend a little bit of time walking around and exploring the area before heading to Horseshoe. A must see! |
![]() Callanish Stones, Scotland, Aug 2018Where is Jamie Fraser?Although I had not seen The Outlander when I visited the stones, I got a bit 'obsessed' with the show upon returning & watched all 3 seasons quicker than I could spell his name! The joke in my house is that next time I visit Scotland, knowing now about Jamie, I may return to the US with a huge bump on my forehead from trying to go through! Between the islands of Lewis & Harris, Skye, and Mull, I can say I have seen beautiful places like no other! | ![]() Cathedral Rock, Sedona - Feb 2018This hike was incredible, but I had to do it barefoot (do not follow my steps y'all!). By the time I was down at the bottom on my way back, I was being called the barefooted hiker! At the base of Cathedral rock is where the full moon drum circle happens, an experience I believe everyone needs to be a part of at least once. If you are afraid of heights, this hike may not be a good option if you plan to go to the top, due to the incline it takes. But it's so beautiful! | ![]() Antelope Canyon, Page, AZ - April 2018This place was on my bucket list, and I must go again! We got to explore the Upper Canyon with the nicest tour guide, Jr. Clark. Please ask for him if you go! There was not a bad view and every corner of this canyon left my jaw open!!! Nature's creation is truly one of a kind! | ![]() Oceanside, CA - Oct 2017California seems to be one of our go to places, but every trip is so different. The kids are growing, their interests are changing, they are getting more adventurous, and before I know they will be teenagers. I hope they continue to think I'm the coolest person (and mom) to hang out with!!! |
![]() Slide Rock, Sedona AZ, March 2017Best child (and adult!) playground, perfect spot in the Spring & Summer! Time at Slide Rock means a day in the sun, with a soothing sound of the creek, a blanket on the ground, picnic style meals, feet on the earth & messy hair! | ![]() Rosslyn Chapel, Scotland, Aug 2017Well.....there it goes...another piece of my heart left in another country! When I walked through immigration I already knew I was in for a phenomenal time, falling in love with the people, their spirit, culture, weather (yes, I love the rain and puddles!), the highlands (and the coos), the cobblestones, Edinburgh, the buildings, and everything in between! There's so much to do and see, islands to explore, words to learn! | ![]() Sedona, AZ, Dec 2016Hiking Devil's Bridge was fun, but hiking it to the top with normal hiking shoes and no grippers...not so much! Luckily I made it to the top, enjoyed the view, got a bit freaked out on the way down, had a huge slip and fell on my bum on the flattest area possible on top of the hardest ;) rock ever! But it was a red rock!!! And I would not have changed this experience! | ![]() Prescott, AZ, Aug 2016The forest, among trees is where I feel the most at home! I love the mountains, the beach, the city, but what makes me feel so alive with my heart beating extra happy is when my feet are barefoot, touching the earth. And no matter how high my arms rise up, I can't touch the top of the shortest tree, yet, I feel like I am as tall as the tallest one of them, my lungs filled with extra oxygen power, my spirit energized, my soul so HAPPY! |
![]() Airport Mesa, Sedona AZ, Sep 2016Surprise trips are the BEST! And if it includes watching the sunset from the top of mountain on my top spot in Sedona, with two of my favorite people, my heart is HAPPY! This is an easy walk up to a 360 degree view of Sedona! Just a great way to end a day of adventures!! | ![]() Prescott, AZ, Nov 2016Day at the lake, walking around and soaking up the sunshine! My kids were not much of the outdoor type, but that is definitely changing now! Every chance I get to take them on a little walk, hike, nature adventure, I make sure I do. What I have noticed is how much calmer their energy get, more relax they feel, and more light their spirits seem! So..shoes off, dirty feet, hands & hair are 'mandatory', plus it is so cool to find ourselves looking like we had a great time when we sure did! | ![]() Florida, Jul 2015I was sad to see my friend Kristin move from AZ to Fl, but so happy that my then annual trip to Orlando meant seeing her! It's never a dull moment with this girl, never short of laughter and good chats! | ![]() Colorado, Jul 2015Road tripping with my little tribe, and this one is among the best family trips we have ever taken! First stop was the Durango & Silverton train. Beautiful view, the kids really enjoyed it! Telluride, Aspen and Denver followed!!! We drove a couple of hours every day, which was the best decision, so we were not tired to explore the towns right upon arrival. |
![]() Payson, AZ, May 2016Quick trip to Tonto National Bridge State Park. The arch is said to be the largest natural travertine bridge in the world, and to me, one of the most beautiful places to visit here in Arizona. It was slippery when I visited, so I would suggest being prepared with good shoes and a change of clothes ;) | ![]() Oregon, Jun 2001Mount Hood and Timberline Lodge!!! Who remembers the exterior of the Overlook Hotel and The Shinning?! Pretty amazing trip where my host family so graciously took me with them! | ![]() Havasupai Falls, AZ - Oct 2000First hike ever....and it was one to remember for many reasons, starting with the fact that it is about 11 miles down...and then 11 miles back up!!! But the waterfalls, the stunning landscape, the adventure of the hike and the other mini ones around the falls has made this trip one of the most memorable one! | ![]() Sydney, Australia - Jan 2000I was so fortunate to spend 5 weeks in Sydney for an English learning course! That was my first real taste of exploring the world on my own, meeting other teens from all over the world and realizing how big of world there is to be explored! |
